Boy in the Hat

As of February 16th, my baby boy is officially done being two....WAH!! At least he still likes me to wrap him in a towel after his bath and carry him to his room like a "tiny, tiny baby". Will that end when he's 10? Anyways, I think I had more fun than anyone planning Noah's Cat in the Hat birthday party. I made my first EVER layer cake, and I think it turned out pretty good (despite the pink-looking frosting the night before!). The weather was beautiful, and Noah's little friends got to play outside and I conned a few of them into playing "Pin the hat on the boy in the hat"---I made a poster of Noah in his Cat in the Hat costume. Auntie Micah did a wonderful reading of the book "Green Eggs and Ham", and Auntie Lydie made REAL green eggs that the grownups raved about! (Didn't see too many kids trying the green eggs, but there were none left!) I don't think Noah realized any of this gathering was for him until he opened up his presents at the end and blew out his #3 candle. I love you, Noah!

San Francisco!

Our friends Elvia and Lizzy needed a ride to UCSF for Lizzy's doctor's appointment (Lizzy had a rod placed in her spine 2 mos. ago for scoliosis), so we took advantage of the situation to help a friend out and visit Lydia and Micah in San Francisco! The kids had a blast riding the BUS all around S.F. (with 4 kids and a stroller in tow, we almost didn't ALL get off the bus a few times!). Another highlight was visiting the Exploratorium...I wish I had taken pic's of the baby chick embryos, but you'll have to enjoy the shadow pic's instead! :) Anyways, it was great to see Lydia and Micah...Lydia made the bomb pasole (sp?) and spaghetti for us. Micah was a gracious tour guide, and got us into the Exploratorium! And most of all, Lizzy's doctor visit went well...she gets to go back to school (To quote the doc, "YOU GO TO SCHOOL, GO TO SCHOOL, GO TO SCHOOL!" Good family, good friends, good memories.

Aislynn is 6 months old!

It's hard to believe that my sweet baby girl is already 6 months old (but then again, as my sister says, it seems like she's been here forever!). Aislynn's favorite things are spitting bubbles at her brothers ("bbbbbbbbbbbbbbb"), screeching and giggling at silly people, and snuggling close to mommy's chest. Her dislikes include being left alone in a room (she so used to SOMEONE'S face being near hers!), being on her tummy for more than a minute or so, and accidentally pulling her binky out of her own mouth! Aislynn is such a joy, and a definite gift from God to this family!

Titus can ride a 2 wheeler!

Titus is 4 1/2 years old and can now ride a big boy bike all by himself! He even learned how to stop and start himself (which is incredibly helpful for his mother!) Take a look....

Skiing with the Andrews Family

Jaden and I had a "ski date" with the Andrews family yesterday. Since I hadn't been skiing in about 12 years, and Jaden had never been on the upper slopes, it was quite a heart-pounding adventure! Getting ON the ski lift turned out being harder than getting down the mountain...Jaden was knocked over by the ski lift the 1st time, and missed it completely our 2nd time up! (A nice gentleman rode with him on the next chair after I screamed back "HE CAN'T RIDE ALONE!!!"). Jaden and I only ate snow once, and Jaden LOVED it when we took the wrong fork in the trail and ended up going down the snowboard trick hill...lots of jumps and rails to avoid!

Jaden's friend Christian took a ski lesson and did great! They loved going down the beginner slope together. All-in-all, a fun and safe day (and beautiful weather too!)
